La Bella Super Polished Ian Martin Allison Signature Strings 5-String Set
When Ian Martin Allison approached us about doing a signature set of Super Polished strings, he loved the original recipe: the punch of stainless rounds but the smooth feel of flats. But he wanted a couple of tweaks to the formula to suit his broad needs as a session and touring bassist.
We changed the gauges, left a touch more edge on the outer wrap and gave him custom pink and grey silk wraps. The result, a unique tone that leans round wound but has the buttery feel of flats! His reaction after playing them on the road for months: āDid you guys just build the perfect string?!ā
- Polished Stainless Steel Round Wound
- Standard Tension
- 5-String Set: .045, .063, .083, .103, .125ā³
- Hex core for better intonation and to prevent string buzz
- Signature Pink & Gray āSilkā Color Combo on the top of strings
- Standard Long Scale Set: All strings are 37ā³ from ball-end to silk/taper. Only the silk portion of the string should wrap around the tuning post (or else the string will break).
- These strings can be both top loaded and strung through the body of the bass. If stringing through the body, make sure the 37ā wound length is long enough for through body stringing.
- Do not tug or pull on strings to break them in as they might break.
- Made in the USA with American Wire
- Packaged using MAP Technology (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) to prevent tarnishing and ensure freshness
